This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct comprehensive compliance investigations into policy infringements and breaches of state or federal regulations, encompassing HIPAA, privacy, and fraud-related matters.
• Actively recognize and evaluate compliance risks by examining internal departmental processes, new product developments, and evolving state/federal regulatory frameworks.
• Create key risk indicators and continuous monitoring programs to assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts.
• Offer clear, actionable, and solution-focused guidance to individual staff, clinical leaders, and executive stakeholders concerning complex regulatory statutes and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with internal policy owners to draft, design, and revise comprehensive operational policies that address crucial organizational risks.
• Liaise directly with regulatory agencies, payor entities, and legal counsel to assist with external accreditations, payor audits, and overall risk management strategies.
• Develop and deliver highly interactive and engaging compliance training sessions and presentations for patient-facing teams, translating complex clinical compliance and risk management concepts into practical, everyday processes.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Over 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, ideally within a high-growth healthcare startup or organization.
• At least 2 years of experience in conducting, documenting, and resolving intricate compliance and privacy investigations.
• Demonstrated success in managing external audits, identifying root-cause issues, and facilitating cross-functional coordination to implement corrective action plans and remediation efforts.
• Strong functional knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA/HITECH, state Medicaid requirements, OIG guidelines, and corporate compliance standards.
• Proven ability to apply critical thinking and manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for translating regulations into operational guidance and fostering relationships while gaining buy-in.
