Compliance Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• The Trade Compliance Coordinator facilitates the effective and prompt movement of goods globally.

• Ensures adherence to legal standards and manages import/export administration in line with applicable rules and regulations.

• Collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, freight forwarders, customs officials, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth shipment coordination and logistics.

• Cultivates customer relationships and delivers exceptional service, while comprehending their needs and objectives.

• Identifies and resolves issues that could affect customer satisfaction, striving for solutions that enhance the overall customer journey.

• Oversees and manages the ticketing system concerning customs compliance inquiries and resolves them promptly.

• Ensures compliance is monitored continuously to achieve 100% adherence to laws, regulations, corporate policies, and customer requirements.

• Reviews and verifies that shipping documents and commercial invoices for import and export customs purposes are compliant and accurate for approval, while completing customs exception tasks as required.

• Facilitates the collection of information and assesses import and export restrictions along with customs compliance regulatory requirements that affect the industry and the supply chain.

• Actively enhances regional expertise and communicates with teams to maintain ongoing awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.

• Provides guidance to customers regarding import and export restrictions and customs-related issues.

• Responsible for the daily tracking of operational metrics and ensuring compliance with SLAs.

• Swiftly escalates issues and keeps management informed about work orders and other necessary items.

• Identifies deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, proposing opportunities for enhancement.

• Stays informed on all regulatory requirements and procedures governing the import and export of goods, as well as other agency requirements, export controls, and restricted goods, employing data analytics and emerging tools to refine processes proactively.

• Aids in project execution and manages assigned individual projects as necessary.

• Supports the rollout of new business initiatives and ensures a smooth transition among the involved Compliance Teams.

• Manages documentation and tracking of project issues, action items, and follows up as necessary to guarantee the completion of project activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• 1-3 years of experience in customs compliance operations, with a preference for import or export operations.

• Familiarity with international trade and customs regulations, incoterms, and their implications for the supply chain is preferred.

• Knowledge of international air and ocean transport logistics processes.

• Outstanding customer service skills, including negotiation, with a proven ability to listen, understand, and communicate effectively and concisely to achieve positive outcomes.

• Risk-aware, able to identify potential problems as they arise or are likely to arise.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Self-motivated with the capability to triage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.

• Strong time management, resource management, attention to detail, and persuasion skills are essential.
