
Compliance & Certification Specialist – Crop Protection Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Identify and ensure adherence to international technical standards (e.g., ISO, OECD) and relevant national regulations (EPA, USDA, or state-specific) for plant protection sprayers and associated agricultural machinery across all pertinent sales markets and national jurisdictions.
• Monitor and manage the certification process for plant protection sprayers and associated agricultural machinery in all relevant sales markets and national jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with testing bodies, regulatory agencies, and certification organizations.
• Assist in the creation of user documentation, compliance reports, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Offer training and guidance to internal teams regarding equipment standards and best practices for application.
• Option A: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Option B: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, preferably with a focus on agricultural law, environmental law, product compliance, or regulatory affairs.
• Over 10 years of hands-on experience with crop protection equipment, application systems, or regulatory compliance.
• Key Certification Areas to Be Knowledgeable In: Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Ergonomics and Chemical handling, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Periodic inspection requirements, Road safety standards, Cybersecurity regulations, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) regulatory compliance.
• More than 10 years of experience working with or within regulatory bodies (e.g., EPA, USDA, EU institutions) or certification organizations.
• Familiarity with international equipment testing protocols (ISO 16122 or similar).
• Understanding of U.S. and various international agricultural regulatory frameworks (EPA pesticide use, USDA equipment guidelines – a plus).
• Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 20%) to conferences and workshops primarily in North America, Oceania, and Europe.
