This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Provide compliance advisory assistance to business partners concerning consumer finance and payments regulations; document guidance, decisions, and follow-ups.
• Facilitate the intake, tracking, and completion of Compliance Operations, Advisory, and Financial Crimes Compliance tasks (advisory requests, reviews, alerts/cases, and actions) utilizing established workflows and evidence standards.
• Conduct second-line oversight reviews of complaint handling for high-risk channels (e.g., CFPB, BBB, and executive escalations) and contribute to analysis of complaint trends and root causes.
• Aid in issues management governance by maintaining issue/action logs, validating remediation plans and evidence, and monitoring progress to resolution.
• Engage in change management oversight by assessing initiatives for compliance impacts, control readiness, and necessary approvals/escalations.
• Carry out pre-use compliance reviews of marketing and customer communications; identify necessary disclosures and risks (e.g., UDAAP, fair lending) and document findings.
• Assist with compliance evaluations for product development regarding new products and significant initiatives; coordinate inputs, maintain risk/control documentation, and track launch conditions.
• Facilitate third-party compliance activities for customer-facing vendors (e.g., due diligence documentation support, contract requirement tracking, ongoing monitoring).
• Support Financial Crimes Compliance operations, including BSA/AML transaction monitoring, alert and case review, and disposition in line with established procedures.
• Assist with sanctions/OFAC screening and watchlist management, including reviewing potential matches, documenting dispositions, and escalating true or probable matches.
• Support Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence/Enhanced Due Diligence (CDD/EDD) activities, including identity-verification exceptions, remediation of identity defects, and program control testing.
• Aid in the preparation, documentation, and quality review of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) narratives and supporting evidence, coordinating with investigators and escalating as necessary.
• Advise business, product, and operations partners on financial crimes requirements and control expectations for both new and existing products, documenting guidance and decisions.
• Assist in responding to subpoenas and regulatory information requests, including FinCEN Section 314(a) inquiries.
• Prepare concise written memos and governance-ready summaries (metrics, themes, escalations) for leadership and partner reporting.
• Help gather and provide relevant information for internal and external regulatory reviews, examinations, audits, or other supervisory events.
• Support additional compliance-related initiatives and projects as assigned.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working autonomously or collaboratively.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, laws, and compliance obligations pertinent to consumer financial products and services, including financial crimes requirements (BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions).
• Experience in compliance operations/advisory, risk management, quality assurance, or other control/oversight functions (planning, documentation, analysis, and reporting).
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear documentation, memos, and evidence packages.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with the ability to prioritize effectively across multiple workstreams.
• Analytical thinker with sound judgment and a proactive approach; able to recommend practical solutions to mitigate risk and enhance controls.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and provide effective challenges and recommendations to mitigate risk and improve controls.
• High integrity, sound ethical judgment, and comfort with raising concerns when necessary.
• Working knowledge of Financial Crimes Compliance operations - transaction monitoring, alert/case management, sanctions screening, CIP/CDD, and SAR processes - or a proven ability to learn them swiftly.
