This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Ensure that the United Way resource databases for the Laredo area are thorough, current, precise, user-friendly, and comply with database policies and the criteria set by governing bodies.
• Research, compile, and evaluate community service information.
• Perform daily database updates and comprehensive agency assessments.
• Promote awareness of the 2-1-1 service and other United Way initiatives throughout the Laredo area.
• Engage with and support community partners and social service providers.
• Provide outreach and educational support to community-based organizations.
• Attend community events and represent United Way at local presentations and partner meetings.
• Address staff requests for resource verification and new agency inquiries.
• Act as the operational lead for the South Central regional disaster resource response before, during, and after emergencies.
• Serve as an on-call contact for statewide 2-1-1 disaster resource coordination during South Central duty periods.
• Support seasonal resource and engagement initiatives.
• Assist other team members and perform tasks as assigned by the Community Resource & Engagement Senior Manager.
• A Bachelor's degree in a social service-related discipline or over 3 years of relevant experience in community engagement, non-profit work, disaster response, or library environments.
• Significant knowledge of community resources, the social service landscape, or disaster response initiatives.
• Strong writing and editing capabilities.
• A commitment to enhancing access to information.
• Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
• Available to respond during scheduled disaster duty windows, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for regional travel.
• Must reside within the Laredo area (Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, or Willacy counties).
• Understanding of border-region social services and the context of the Laredo community is advantageous.
• Experience in managing resource databases, case management systems, or referral platforms is a plus.
