Communications Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee all facets of the organization’s external communications efforts.

• Enhance the organization’s reputation among stakeholders such as funders and policymakers.

• Design and implement FTP’s marketing and communication strategies and campaigns.

• Direct internal communication initiatives and manage organizational change.

• Supervise media relations and ensure brand visibility.

• Act as the Executive Editor for all publications produced by the organization.

• Partner with development staff to craft engaging fundraising materials.

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the Communications Team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, journalism, social media, or related fields with progressively increasing responsibilities.

• Proven experience working with diverse communities and a strong dedication to social justice.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be ready to travel to various locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including prison releases.

• Exceptional writing and editing abilities for opinion pieces, strategic documents, reports, and newsletters.

• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Salesforce, Box, and Asana.

• Experience in developing and executing integrated plans that combine PR, marketing, social media, and advocacy to engage key audiences.
