This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Collaborate with all pertinent divisions of the Secretariat, including the Executive Office of the ADG (SC/EO), to facilitate communication regarding the collaboration between UNESCO and the UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation, particularly for his involvement in UNESCO-led or sponsored events, including participation through video messages.
• Assist in the partnership strategy of WPDI by creating relevant communication materials, aiming to foster new synergies between WPDI and the Sciences Sector of UNESCO.
• Lead the development and execution of the Communication strategy for WPDI across all platforms, including social media, the website, newsletters, and print media.
• Create and oversee tailored communication plans for partners or events.
• Write and edit op-eds, articles, speeches, blog posts, press releases, human-interest stories, newsletters, media kits, and other advocacy/information materials for both online and traditional media.
• Support the initiatives of the UNESCO Special Envoy for Peace and Reconciliation by preparing briefings and fact sheets.
• Coordinate the planning of high-visibility activities for WPDI, encompassing campaigns and events.
• Ensure the quality and distribution of reports and technical materials to enhance the visibility of the programs implemented by WPDI/UNESCO in its target countries.
• Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or other related fields of study.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience in communications, print media, digital and social media, public relations, or similar relevant fields.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills; strong drafting, formulation, and reporting abilities; precision and professionalism in document creation and editing; outstanding interpersonal skills; culturally and socially aware; knowledgeable about communication tools and strategies for development; capability to work effectively within a multicultural team comprising international and national personnel; comprehensive computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office and Google Workspace applications, as well as programs such as Adobe XD, InDesign, MailChimp; familiarity with database management and office technology; self-motivated with the ability to work independently; adept at managing tight deadlines.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
