This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.
• Oversee commissioning projects from their inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Create detailed project plans, commissioning activity timelines, work sequences, budget estimates, and resource allocation strategies.
• Manage project scope, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to achieve successful project results.
• Coordinate and lead interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders, throughout the commissioning process.
• Monitor project advancement, track milestones, and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
• Facilitate and chair commissioning meetings, document meeting minutes, and ensure that action items are monitored and completed.
• Manage client relationships and act as the primary contact for all communications related to commissioning projects.
• Oversee budget management, change orders, and financial reporting for assigned projects.
• Handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously while meeting demanding workload requirements.
• Execute all aspects of commissioning-related projects by delivering exceptional technical and field activities throughout the design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction stages.
• Develop and approve detailed commissioning plans and specifications that align with project objectives.
• Conduct reviews of commissioning design drawings and specifications, as well as submittal (shop drawing) reviews.
• Provide strong technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, project coordinators, and field staff.
• Utilize strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills to address complex technical issues.
• Perform comprehensive field-based commissioning activities, including regular site visits and on-site technical assessments.
• Develop, track, and resolve technical issues using an Issues Log with appropriate escalation and resolution protocols.
• Design and implement seasonal/performance tests to verify system performance under various operating conditions.
• Establish and maintain document control systems to manage project documents, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and procedures.
• Support and execute all project documentation requirements and field activity components from start to finish.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred), Construction Management, or a relevant technical field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in commissioning project management and engineering within the construction or engineering sector.
• At least 2 years of relevant mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience.
• Proven success in managing multiple complex commissioning projects simultaneously.
• Expert knowledge of commissioning processes, procedures, and industry best practices in accordance with ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED standards.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, building automation systems, and other building systems.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical testing meters and equipment, with the ability to analyze and report on test results.
• Proven leadership and team management skills with experience in directing cross-functional teams.
• Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Strong data management skills and a demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in MS Office products and project management software, as well as documentation tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, and commissioning software platforms.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA.
