Commissioning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Troubleshoot various automation systems

• Conduct system and I/O checkouts

• Assist with controls and PLC checkouts

• Evaluate system performance

• Lead teams of commissioning engineers

• Verify and validate engineered systems to ensure they meet design and customer specifications

• Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to effectively resolve problems and issues

• Design pre-punched enclosures and subpanels using AutoCAD

• Develop and maintain project workbooks, and perform pre-checks on electrical drawings for accuracy, completeness, and UL compliance prior to installation and material procurement

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related commissioning field

• 1-3 years of experience in automation, control system design, and I/O checkouts

• Strong understanding of electrical and controls engineering theories and principles

• Substantial electrical aptitude along with knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and codes

• Experience with VFDs from Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider is advantageous but not mandatory

• Proficiency with PLCs from Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix & CompactLogix), Modicon, and Siemens (S7) is beneficial but not essential

• Familiarity with HMIs from Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Ignition, and WinCC is a plus but not required

• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written communication skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and MS Project

• Capability to collaborate with experienced, multidisciplinary technical specialists

• Ability to independently coordinate small to large projects and teams while making informed decisions

• Competent in troubleshooting electrical systems for industrial applications

• Skilled in using AutoCAD for designing electrical panels and creating electrical drawings and schematics
