Commercial Property Claims Examiner II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of commercial property claims from the point of assignment until resolution.

• Assess commercial claims reviewed by independent adjusters to ascertain the scope of insurance coverage and the legitimacy of the claims.

• Review and modify commercial loss reserves, manage correspondence and reports, verify coverage, and approve payments submitted by independent adjusters.

• Work in conjunction with internal staff and/or legal representatives on claims that involve litigation.

• Investigate, assess, and adjust claims by utilizing technical expertise and interpersonal skills to facilitate fair and swift claim settlements.

• Supervise independent adjuster files to ensure adherence to CFP IA Guidelines.

• Validate and scrutinize data utilized in claim settlements to ensure its legitimacy and confirm that settlements align with company policies and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with the Department of Insurance and all Company protocols.

• Detect indicators of fraud or unlawful activities and adhere to internal procedures to escalate claims to the relevant personnel for further action.

• Swiftly negotiate settlements, ensuring that the agreements reflect the insured losses while safeguarding the insurer from invalid claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

• Over 5 years of experience in property claims adjusting, with a preference for at least 2 years in commercial property claims.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.

• In-depth understanding of policy contracts, statutes, and the claims process.

• Certified in CEA and Fair Claims Settlement Practices.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial experience.
