This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct virtual commercial inspections and plan evaluations in licensed disciplines (building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) using video, photographs, or digital submissions.
• Detect defects, hazards, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues in line with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Diligently document inspection results through approved reporting systems and communication channels.
• Relay inspection outcomes, needed corrections, and professional suggestions to key stakeholders.
• Assist and counsel internal teams, contractors, and building owners regarding code violations and compliance matters.
• Offer technical guidance and support to inspection teams and personnel concerning field-related issues.
• Engage in cross-training with other inspection staff to expand knowledge and improve overall job performance.
• Provide outstanding customer service and support throughout the inspection process.
• Stay updated on jurisdictional requirements and the Florida Building Code.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active State of Florida Commercial Inspector License in Mechanical (MN).
• Active State of Florida Commercial Inspector Licenses in Building (BN), Electrical (EN), and Plumbing (PN) are advantageous.
• Preferred: Active State of Florida Commercial Plan Review License in Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing.
• Preferred: Active International Code Council Certification (ICC).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial inspection, construction, or plan review.
• Capability to accurately read and interpret all approved plans, revisions, and required documentation for any assigned project.
• Strong working knowledge of the Florida Building Code and applicable jurisdictional regulations.
• Experience with virtual or remote inspections is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to meet inspection turnaround deadlines.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with internal teams.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional remote workspace.
