
Commercial Manager – Construction Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement commercial strategies for construction contracts, ensuring they align with project execution, budget, and Platform Delivery goals, including pricing models, payment structures, escalation mechanisms, incentives, and performance-based adjustments.
• Serve as the gatekeeper for corporate procurement standards, identifying off-playbook vendor requests and facilitating formal business leadership approval processes before commitments are made.
• Assess vendor redlines for their commercial, financial, and operational implications, and co-lead negotiation sessions with Legal to present a cohesive corporate stance.
• Collaborate with Legal to convert agreed-upon commercial terms into clear and enforceable contractual language.
• Engage in project and portfolio reviews to ensure commercial alignment and strategy are established prior to contract execution.
• Create and sustain commercial playbooks, templates, and standard positions for construction contracts to promote consistency across various projects.
• Gather and integrate lessons learned from previous negotiations to continually enhance outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, or a related discipline. (An MBA or relevant advanced certifications such as CPSM are advantageous).
• Over 5 years of experience in commercial management, procurement, contract negotiation, or related fields.
• Background in negotiating construction, infrastructure, or capital equipment agreements.
• Strong knowledge of pricing models, payment structures, and commercial risk allocation.
• Excellent analytical and financial skills, including cost modeling and cash flow evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations in complex, fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience in data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, construction, or energy sectors.
• Understanding of construction contracting models (EPC, EPCM, design-build, modular delivery).
• Experience in structuring large-scale CAPEX agreements.
• Familiarity with long-lead infrastructure or equipment installation contracts.
