This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Collaborate with managers in the restaurant and hospitality sectors to provide comprehensive service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and various specialty food service equipment.
• Exhibit your mechanical skills, troubleshooting abilities, and capacity to interpret diagrams and schematics.
• Effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, encompassing cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and other specialty food service tools.
• Liaise with manufacturers as necessary to assist with diagnostics and parts identification.
• Seek assistance from the Technical Assistance Group for technical support while on-site.
• Install all parts ordered for customers promptly and professionally, adhering to company policies.
• Advocate for and suggest additional services offered by Smart Care to customers when appropriate.
• Generate accurate and timely administrative documents, including work orders, time reports, receipts, and inventory of truck stock.
• Adhere to safe work practices and accident prevention protocols.
• Keep a tidy and organized service vehicle, along with precise parts and tool inventory.
• Maintain productivity levels in line with company standards.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Willingness and ability to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, which includes nights and weekends.
• Availability for occasional overnight travel as required.
• Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications (e.g., EPA, CFESA).
• Experience in the repair of commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment.
• Self-driven with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
• On-the-job training with access to on-demand technical support, as well as ongoing formal hands-on and classroom training at our National Training Kitchen.
• Professional CFESA certifications with opportunities for career advancement.
