This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.
β’ Create precise and timely cost estimates for new injection molding and assembly projects based on customer-provided information, utilizing Viant costing tools and engineering expertise.
β’ Evaluate prints, solid models, specifications, and additional data to identify the most cost-effective methods for manufacturing molded components and plastic part assemblies.
β’ Contribute to enhancements in the quoting process to boost our win rate and overall team efficiency.
β’ Identify suitable Viant manufacturing locations for new projects. Engage with the engineering and leadership teams at these sites to ascertain lead times, NRE costs, capacity availability, and capital expenditure needs.
β’ Assess the capital investment required by Viant and the resulting payback period.
β’ Assist in the development of proposals for targeted opportunities.
β’ Collaborate with the sales team and key site members to establish an optimal price point that maximizes Viant's profitability while providing competitive pricing to secure new business.
β’ Lead the approval process for quotes based on revenue levels, production sites, and customers, involving interactions with CEO, CFO, COO, and CCO levels to refine Viant's strategy.
β’ Serve as a primary technical contact for molding opportunities by participating in customer meetings as necessary to articulate our approach, gather essential information, and work with the customer to present a solution that addresses their requirements.
β’ Demonstrate strong expertise in injection molding tooling, equipment, and processes, and collaborate closely with other Viant subject matter experts to create unique, successful business solutions.
β’ Ensure adherence to Viant's quoting process to maintain accurate quoting records, which may include training sales team members on necessary processes and forms.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in injection molding within the healthcare/medical device sector, including a minimum of 5 years in a relevant technical or commercial role.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing process technologies, particularly in: Injection molding, Injection mold tooling, and Medical device assembly.
β’ Experience in quoting plastic components using IQMS is preferred.
β’ Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) in IQMS is preferred.
β’ Strong grasp of injection molding production processes.
β’ Proficient in SolidWorks for part analysis and cost model development.
β’ Expertise in cost accounting and cost estimation.
β’ Solid understanding of financial analysis tools and Return on Investment (ROI) modeling.
β’ Capability to read and interpret product design drawings utilized in the medical device industry.
β’ Remote position with 15%-25% travel required across Viant facilities.
