Commercial CAT Underwriting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement underwriting strategies aimed at fostering profitable growth while achieving robust, risk-adjusted returns.

• Set and manage underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk selection criteria to ensure uniformity and sound decision-making.

• Track and assess portfolio performance, underwriting KPIs, and loss trends to pinpoint areas for enhancement and optimize outcomes.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of commercial underwriters, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and promoting professional development.

• Perform quarterly quality assurance reviews, evaluate underwriting accuracy and compliance, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as an Underwriter in the commercial insurance sector.

• More than 5 years of experience managing coastal catastrophe risks.

• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role for a team of underwriters.

• In-depth knowledge of commercial lines of business.

• Prior experience as an Underwriter for a Managing General Agent (MGA) or insurance carrier.

• Demonstrated capability to lead high-performing teams and drive strategic initiatives.

• Producer license is preferred but not mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection is necessary.

• A designated quiet workspace for working from home is required.
