Commercial Appliance Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• The Service Technician is tasked with addressing customer work orders assigned by their service manager.

• This role involves traveling to customer sites to diagnose and resolve issues as required.

• The technician will be provided with a van, a company fuel card, a credit card, a phone, and an iPad.

• All work orders are dispatched electronically through the phone/iPad the day prior.

• The technician is expected to promptly review those work orders to stay informed about their schedule for the next day.

• The Service Technician is required to take their vehicle home each night.

• The company vehicle is designated for work purposes ONLY unless prior approval is obtained from the T&J Service Manager.

• All vehicles are equipped with GPS monitoring for location tracking and to ensure safe driving practices.

• The Service Technician will report to their manager via phone from Albany.

• The service manager is consistently available to assist the technician with any questions or concerns.

• The Service Technician must adhere to all company policies and procedures, both internally and externally.

⛳️ Requirements

• A clean driving record is essential.

• Candidates should be prepared to drive up to 2 hours (one way) for service calls.

• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills are necessary, as the supervisor will be remote from the main office.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others is required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities are important.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

• Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing TurboChef, Merry Chef, Bunn, Mastrena, Hatco, Clover Vertica, Franke, or similar equipment is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Facility Services industry is advantageous.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Refrigeration certification is highly encouraged, though not required.
