This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

• Conduct monthly, bimonthly, or weekly meetings with students and their parents to develop and assess college admissions strategies.

• Create a well-rounded college list that aligns with students’ aspirations, backgrounds, and interests.

• Offer support and constructive feedback for college essays.

• Organize the application submission timeline and strategies (ED 1, ED 2, EA, Regular Decision, etc.).

• Compile students’ activity resumes.

• Coordinate and request letters of recommendation.

• Provide coaching for admissions interviews.

• Arrange for campus visits and tours.

• Oversee academic, standardized testing, and extracurricular plans for students.

• Mentor students through independent projects.

• Update meeting notes following each session.

• Compare and review admissions offers with students and their families.

• Maintain open and consistent communication with students and parents to ensure clients feel supported.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• Availability of 4-10 hours per week.

• A minimum of two years of experience in one of the following roles:

• - Associate Dean/Director of Admissions at a US four-year degree-granting institution.

• - College Prep Guidance Counselor.

• - Independent Educational Consultant (individuals only, no firms).

• - In-depth understanding of college admissions criteria at competitive schools, Little Ivies, and hidden gems.

• - A friendly, empathetic personality coupled with strong skills in relationship building.

• - Demonstrated exceptional writing abilities.

• - Capability to work independently.

• - Strong attention to detail and proficient project management skills.

• - High level of comfort with web conferencing, document sharing, online lesson delivery, and scheduling software.

• Compensation ranging from $85 to $95 per hour, based on experience.
