This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
β’ Engage with members using various communication channels to determine solutions and devise strategies for resolving overdue accounts.
β’ Set up payment plans and collect loan repayments while fostering positive relationships with members.
β’ Execute account transactions, process loan repayments, manage payoffs, handle account maintenance requests, and document collection activities.
β’ Support members with Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and payment protection claims.
β’ Prepare and present repossession files for review and approval of both voluntary and involuntary repossessions.
β’ Address overdrawn accounts and operational losses effectively.
β’ Deliver prompt, professional, and courteous service while addressing member concerns and escalations.
β’ Work collaboratively with other departments on inquiries related to collections and account resolutions.
β’ Achieve service level standards and collection performance objectives.
β’ Ensure adherence to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), regulatory standards, and OCCU procedures.
β’ At least one year of experience in collections, financial services, lending, member service, or a closely related field.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for handling sensitive financial discussions.
β’ Capability to cultivate trust and maintain positive relationships while managing delinquent accounts.
β’ Proficient in active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving techniques.
β’ Ability to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and quality of work.
β’ Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Capacity to remain calm, professional, and efficient in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
β’ Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
β’ Skill in accurately documenting collection activities and account details.
β’ Knowledge of collection practices, account maintenance, and principles of member service.
β’ Candidates must be residents of Oregon, Washington, or Idaho as a requirement for employment.
β’ Availability to work evenings and weekends as dictated by business needs.
