Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and verify medical codes assigned to diagnoses, procedures, and services to guarantee precision and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and other coding systems.

• Offer expert coding advice and assistance to clinicians and various departments, acting as a resource for intricate coding inquiries.

• Perform coding audits and quality assessments to detect discrepancies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Create and evaluate coding productivity reports.

• Work in collaboration with IT and billing teams to address system challenges affecting coding workflows.

• Engage in organizational initiatives, training, and ongoing improvements to enhance the coding process.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or an equivalent certification is required.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive medical coding experience, ideally in home health, hospice, or similar healthcare environments.

• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards.

• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and coding software systems.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.
