Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Evaluates outpatient clinical documentation and assigns the appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.

• Employs 3M 360 Finder for code assignment and addresses claim edits.

• Tracks outpatient uncoded reports to ensure a timely coding and billing process.

• Works collaboratively with physicians for any necessary clarifications.

• Communicates documentation deficiencies to the physician.

• Updates patient financial accounts in the billing system as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

• Successful completion of an accredited coding educational program.

• Coding certification required from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

• One to two years of experience in outpatient coding or billing.

• Capability to meet and uphold established quality and productivity standards.
