This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Oversee coding workflows to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and alignment with urgent care-specific standards.
• Spearhead clinical documentation improvement (CDI) initiatives to boost completeness, specificity, and compliance with payers.
• Collaborate with providers, center leadership, and vendors to enhance documentation and coding outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with coding service level agreements (SLAs) for prompt charge capture, claim submission, and minimized billing delays.
• Create and deliver educational programs on coding and documentation for providers, clinical staff, and BPO partners.
• Work alongside offshore coding vendors to evaluate performance, enhance quality, and maximize cost efficiency.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including coding accuracy, productivity, denial rates, and turnaround times.
• Lead audit initiatives and execute corrective actions to uphold regulatory and compliance standards.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives throughout the revenue cycle in a high-volume urgent care environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare, specifically in coding and/or CDI.
• Experience in urgent care, ambulatory, or high-volume outpatient environments is preferred.
• Preferred certifications include RHIA, RHIT, or CPC.
• In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and payer-specific regulations.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in managing BPO/vendor relationships.
