This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +6 more states.
• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for various outpatient visit types.
• Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician interactions.
• Conduct a comprehensive review of medical records to code relevant diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical departments to offer expertise in coding reimbursement.
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology to interpret health record documentation, ensuring appropriate reporting of diagnoses and/or procedures.
• Adhere to the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of at least 95%.
• Address and resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD, or other outpatient claim edit failures as assigned.
• Achieve established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for all outpatient encounter types.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare environment.
• Possession of RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC credentials.
• Membership in AHIMA or AAPC.
