This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Ensures that documentation is of high quality, comprehensive, and precise.

• Organizes and prioritizes tasks effectively.

• Reviews medical records and charts, applying appropriate ICD and CPT code combinations.

• Conducts audits to identify documentation improvement opportunities and engages with clinical staff.

• Reaches out to physicians for clarification on specific details.

• Employs the ICD-10-CM classification system along with the CPT classification system.

• Maintains a coding accuracy rate of 90% or higher.

• Adheres to established coding standards and regulatory requirements.

• Engages in coding training specific to various specialties.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Minimum of 1 year of ICD1 Coding experience in a Medical Practice.

• Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) is required upon hire.

• Certification as an Outpatient Coder (COC) is required upon hire.
