This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Achieve or surpass revenue objectives by:
• Skillfully delivering metal cutting solutions by comprehending current and emerging market trends to fulfill customers’ essential needs and goals in a professional manner.
• Generating, qualifying, and overseeing all sales leads, prospects, and new customer accounts.
• Proactively managing the entire sales process, which includes prospecting, qualification, consultative sales meetings, product demonstrations, pricing discussions, terms negotiations, and sourcing.
• Creating and implementing strategic territory plans aimed at achieving revenue targets with an emphasis on new product sales.
• Providing prompt responses to pre-sales technical and commercial inquiries from customers.
• Keeping customer and project records current in CRM to maintain a clean and healthy sales pipeline.
• Collaborating actively with internal sales and support teams, such as Application Engineers, Channel Partner Representatives, Inside Sales, and others, to deliver value and a seamless customer experience.
• Conducting online and/or onsite demonstrations of metal cutting products customized to meet customers’ requirements.
• Organizing pre-sales workshops, webinars, and other online/onsite events within the territory.
• Representing and promoting Kennametal at trade shows, conferences, and other events within the territory.
• Providing cost savings through the analysis of complex application needs and offering recommendations to support customer business requirements via tooling and application testing.
• Preparing and delivering progress, status, and forecasting reports.
• A technical degree or a degree in Business, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering is preferred.
• Over 3 years of relevant experience in the CNC machining industry, with 1-2 years of technical sales and/or application experience preferred.
• Proficient in product knowledge, covering applications and troubleshooting; capable of tailoring solutions to match customer needs.
• Strong understanding of industry dynamics; effectively aligns product solutions with customer requirements and industry trends.
• Skilled in various sales techniques, including advanced objection handling and closing strategies; adapts approach to different customer types.
• Independently executes strategic sales plans; contributes to strategy development and meets targets through insightful planning.
• Strong critical thinking, presentation, and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, with the skill to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Customer-focused mindset with a dedication to problem-solving and delivering outstanding service.
• Detail-oriented in managing contract reviews and discussing project specifications.
• Creative and persuasive, capable of strategic and tactical thinking.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across all departments.
