This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructures.
• Convert business and technical requirements into efficient cloud architectural solutions.
• Assist with cloud migration initiatives, encompassing planning, data migration, and workload restructuring.
• Oversee and enhance AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation.
• Track system performance to ensure optimal availability and reliability, aiming for 99.999% uptime.
• Apply security controls, compliance frameworks, and monitoring solutions.
• Work collaboratively with developers and data engineers to integrate applications with cloud services.
• Automate infrastructure and processes through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Keep technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures up to date.
• Conduct system patching, upgrades, and continuous system monitoring.
• Aid in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, including planning, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
• Capability to obtain and keep a Public Trust clearance.
• Over 2 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, or cloud architecture.
• Practical experience with AWS GovCloud and fundamental AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• In-depth understanding of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks.
• Background in cloud migration and hybrid/multi-cloud settings.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
• Expertise in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, or similar languages).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional level).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Knowledge of AWS data and analytics services (Redshift, Athena, etc.).
• Experience working within federal government or law enforcement environments.
• Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and modernizing cloud-native applications.
