Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Designing and executing controls that uphold security invariants and enforce our security principles, all while delivering an exceptionally positive user experience.

• Offering a migration strategy for newly acquired companies onto the Stripe Secure Platform by collaborating closely with their engineers and proactively taking action.

• Continuous Integration tooling for platform-related configuration, including IAM roles, SCPs, and related components.

• Establishing guardrails and security controls for both widely-used and emerging cloud technologies.

• Expanding our cloud identity infrastructure to create streamlined pathways for AI and agentic access.

• Developing automation tools to consistently reduce permissions and access across our cloud services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Design, develop, and manage the core security infrastructure utilized by all of Stripe’s engineering teams, in close partnership with other stakeholders and users.

• Maintain our high engineering standards and ensure consistency across the various codebases and processes you will engage with.

• Foster team learning by enhancing engineering standards, tools, and processes.

• Create and implement robust solutions that will elevate Stripe’s security beyond the current industry standards.

• Assist in expanding Stripe’s cloud presence on secure, well-defined paths and guardrails.

• Focus on security controls that offer enjoyable user experiences.

• Collaborate closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to build integrations with our cloud infrastructure or adopt new cloud-managed services.

• Make significant decisions regarding systems and security, including their edge cases, failure modes, and life cycles.

• Utilize data to establish suitable baselines for measuring security.

• Define infrastructure that consistently delivers signals to threat teams.

• Assess and prototype new security tools and methodologies.
