Cloud Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain GCP network environments utilizing Network Connectivity Center (NCC), Cloud VPN, Cloud Load Balancers, VPC structures, and Service Networking.

• Establish consistent design frameworks for SaaS providers, on-premise systems, and internal GCP services.

• Engage in an on-call rotation and serve as an escalation point for production support.

• Execute cloud network projects that meet business demands for internal stakeholders.

• Articulate how technical components contribute to cloud platform environments to peer groups, partner teams, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with vendors to influence and adopt future GCP network product offerings.

• Work alongside the Cloud Network Delivery peer group on operational support, technical design, and technical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 7 years of experience in network engineering positions.

• 5 years of experience in delivering GCP network environments.

• Expert knowledge of GCP service networking constructs, including Private Service Access and Private Service Connect.

• Advanced understanding of GCP Network Connectivity Center (NCC).

• Advanced knowledge of GCP load balancing solutions.

• Advanced understanding of Cloud VPN, Interconnect, and proxy-based connectivity within GCP.

• Advanced comprehension of TCP/IP and the ability to diagnose packet captures.

• Advanced understanding of packet-flow decision-making processes, including path determination, packet overhead constraints, fragmentation, and flow manipulation.

• Experience in delivering Cloud CDN solutions with a focus on cache versus origin optimization.

• Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions.

• Familiarity with Jira and ServiceNow.

• Ability to provide baseline health monitoring for error budgeting and targeted SLI and SLO metrics.

• Proactive self-starter with the ability to excel in an autonomous environment.
