Cloud Migration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Evaluate local hosts and conduct discovery through business processes, CPU, memory, storage, dependencies, and runtime patterns to assess migration readiness.

• Analyze workloads based on functionality, business criticality, resilience requirements, and disruption tolerance to determine appropriate cloud computing placement.

• Plan and provision the necessary cloud infrastructure capacity to support migration, testing, and production execution.

• Execute UAT and parallel testing in production, compare results, capture evidence, and resolve discrepancies until closure.

• Perform tuning and performance optimization to ensure that migrated workloads are stable, scalable, efficient, and production-ready.

• Collaborate with the application engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams to finalize migration plans, launch approaches, validation criteria, and rollback considerations.

• Manage launch readiness, execute deployment activities in production, and complete post-launch check and validation procedures.

• Support the decommissioning of legacy on-premises hosts following successful migration and validation.

• Design, enhance, and implement automation frameworks and AI-assisted solutions to enable repeatable, efficient, and large-scale cloud migrations.

• Document migration procedures, operational learnings, risks, and best practices to improve the execution model of the factory.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a team-based collaborative environment.

• Programming: Professional proficiency in Python, Java, or a similar programming/scripting language.

• Systems: Strong foundations in Unix/Linux with the ability to troubleshoot application, deployment, environment, and runtime issues.

• Methodology: Familiarity with SDLC practices, CI/CD delivery models, change management, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
