Cloud Infrastructure Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Direct and manage daily operations of cloud infrastructure and service delivery.

• Supervise and support Cloud Administrator(s) and prospective cloud team members.

• Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS environments.

• Evaluate and authorize cloud architecture designs, infrastructure modifications, and deployment strategies.

• Create and uphold operational standards, procedures, and documentation.

• Supervise the management of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and associated services.

• Oversee multi-account AWS environments and governance frameworks.

• Guarantee compliance with cloud security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor resource utilization in the cloud and optimize infrastructure costs.

• Define and implement backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.

• Ensure that backup solutions are effectively implemented, tested, and monitored.

• Conduct regular reviews and testing exercises for disaster recovery.

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Cloud Administrator(s).

• Lead initiatives for cloud modernization and automation.

• Advocate for the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.

• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and customer experience.

• Assess emerging cloud technologies and suggest enhancements.

• Manage infrastructure monitoring and alert management processes.

• Ensure prompt responses and resolutions to critical incidents.

• Conduct root cause analyses and post-incident review sessions.

• Define and monitor service level objectives (SLOs) and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Assist customer-facing teams in crafting and delivering cloud solutions.

• Serve as a senior escalation point for cloud-related issues.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align cloud services with corporate objectives.

• Oversee the performance, development, and career advancement of cloud team members.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning efforts.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and excellence in customer service.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in AWS cloud administration, engineering, or architecture.

• At least 2–3 years of experience in leadership or people management.

• Demonstrated experience managing production AWS environments.

• Strong expertise in: EC2, VPC Design and Management, Multi-Account AWS Environments, IAM and Security Controls, S3 and Backup Solutions, Monitoring and Alerting Platforms.

• Experience in managing cloud operations within customer-facing settings.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).

• Proficient in using Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.

• Experience with SAP Business One (SQL & HANA) environments.
