Cloud Engineer – Public & Defence Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructures tailored for complex customer environments.

• Integrate automation, platform-centric thinking, and security by design.

• Develop and refine CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure and configuration as code.

• Integrate and coordinate platform components through established interfaces.

• Contribute to production-focused use cases (e.g., workload identities, break-glass strategies, migration, and automation).

• Create transparent and robust operational strategies — "secure by default".

⛳️ Requirements

• Cloud expertise: Ideally several years of practical experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — encompassing architecture to operations.

• Infrastructure-as-Code approach: Strong understanding of Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation — treating infrastructure as an automated, version-controlled standard.

• Containerization & Kubernetes: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in live production settings.

• CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience in developing and managing modern delivery pipelines and automating deployments.

• Monitoring & Observability: Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

• Security awareness: Knowledge of fundamental cloud security principles such as least privilege, network segmentation, and secrets management.

• Language proficiency: Excellent command of German, both spoken and written.
