This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux systems, primarily utilizing Ubuntu, in both physical and virtual environments.
• Act as a Tier 2 escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing remediation measures.
• Oversee virtual machine workloads within HPE Morpheus Enterprise HVM and VMware ESXi, including provisioning, lifecycle management, and hypervisor-level troubleshooting.
• Develop and enforce standardized documentation for builds.
• Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management, OS patching, application deployment, and compliance enforcement.
• Write and manage Terraform configurations for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Uphold best practices for infrastructure-as-code, including version control and peer reviews.
• Keep NetBox updated as the authoritative source for IPAM, DCIM asset records, and network topology documentation.
• Integrate NetBox with Infrastructure as Code tools to automate the routine commissioning of physical equipment.
• Engage in change management processes that align with ITSM standards.
• Conduct system health checks, capacity assessments, and performance optimizations for Linux servers.
• Enhance and maintain runbooks, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with networking, security, and cloud teams to address cross-functional infrastructure challenges.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents outside of standard business hours.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, particularly with Ubuntu, networking, storage management, and security hardening.
• At least 2 years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Ansible and Terraform.
• Familiarity with HPE Morpheus Enterprise or similar HVM/KVM platforms for VM provisioning, template management, and self-service automation.
• Working knowledge of NetBox for managing IPAM, DCIM, and serving as a network source of truth.
• Proficient in scripting languages for automation and tool development.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewall rules in virtualized and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows using GitLab or GitHub.
• Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues independently and under pressure.
• Skilled in producing accurate runbooks, topology diagrams, and change records.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workload.
• Effective at collaborating with peers and cross-functional teams.
• Possess a proactive, change-oriented, and automation-first mindset.
• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM best practices.
• Preferred certifications include LPIC-1/LPIC-2, RHCSA, RH294 or higher, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate 003 or 004.
• Must meet eligibility criteria for access to restricted information.
• Must be able to pass the CJIS clearance for the state of Florida.
• Eligibility for remote work.
• Standard business hours with participation in an on-call rotation.
• Occasional travel requirements of less than 10% may be necessary for datacenter activities.
