This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Design and manage production infrastructure on AWS EKS utilizing Terraform and Helm.

• Enhance Shipyard's self-service features ranging from CLI tools to GitOps workflows via ArgoCD.

• Take ownership of on-call duties with diligence.

• Work closely with product managers to identify areas where platform tools may cause challenges.

• Provide clear and consistent communication through documentation, code reviews, and team meetings.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes in production settings, including cluster management, Helm, RBAC, networking, and workload debugging.

• Proficiency in Terraform that extends beyond syntax: you've developed modules, overseen remote state, and have opinions on structuring.

• Strong understanding of AWS core services along with container orchestration capabilities.

• A platform engineering perspective: you've created solutions that other engineers utilize.

• Familiarity with observability principles that go beyond basic monitoring (SLIs, SLOs, structured logging, distributed tracing).

• Experience scripting in Python or Bash for automating operational tasks.

• Knowledge of AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code as valuable accelerators is a plus.
