Clinical Quality Improvement Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Act as the initial point of contact with hospital-based teams by coordinating resources, enhancing communication, and providing technical assistance.

• Lead structured hospital quality improvement initiatives through quarterly one-on-one coaching sessions, which include setting SMART objectives, identifying areas for improvement, executing Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles, and creating 30-60-90-day improvement plans.

• Partner with the Deputy Director of Clinical QI, peer QI advisors, the data team, and partner organizations to aid in data collection, offering technical support, utilizing innovative methods for enhancement, and improving data quality.

• Focus on the collection and analysis of race, ethnicity, and language data to assist hospitals in recognizing and addressing disparities in healthcare delivery and outcomes.

• Oversee the review, benchmarking, and assessment of QI facility project team plan outcomes to propel improvement efforts; Discuss and propose strategies to tackle challenges and obstacles within improvement plans.

• Link project teams with resources such as evidence-based models and peer learning opportunities.

• Collaborate with CPCQC staff to create templates for posters, publications, and abstracts to highlight QI work on both local and national stages.

• Guide teams on the application of improvement concepts, methods, and tools for their ongoing and future enhancement efforts.

• Organize and co-facilitate monthly collaborative learning sessions for healthcare team QI project participants, focusing on facilitating QI discussions that include content and expert speakers.

• Assist in interpreting data provided by the data analyst and propose ideas for clinical improvements/interventions based on Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) presentations.

• Present topics related to Quality Improvement at collaborative meetings, forums, summits, webinars, and project team gatherings.

• Document advancements toward project-related objectives for stakeholder reports (including the Board of Directors, grant funders, steering committees, etc.); Engage in grant reporting obligations.

• Monitor the progress towards project goals for cohorts and individual healthcare facilities, encompassing data outcomes, control charts, run charts, and more.

• Collaborate with CPCQC staff to obtain continuing medical education credits for project programming; lead and manage applications for continuing medical education, course requirements, and reporting.

• Track the progress of each hospital in fulfilling the requirements of Colorado Senate Bill 24-175 utilizing CPCQC's engagement tracker.

• Work alongside a team of QI advisors to conduct QI 101 training up to four times a year.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading or supporting clinical or public health quality improvement initiatives.

• At least 2 years of clinical experience in maternal-child health or a related healthcare environment (e.g., RN, CNM, NP, MD, case manager, social worker).

• Proven knowledge of healthcare quality improvement methodologies and the ability to implement them effectively.

• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.

• Experience handling healthcare data while adhering to HIPAA and data security regulations.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a remote, team-oriented setting.
