Clinical Psychologist – Mental Health Provider

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert medical services to support the AMWD, as the agency operates as the Department of the Air Force (DAF) medical certification and waiver authority.

• Perform occupational suitability risk assessments and analyses for all candidates applying for enlistment, commissioning, flying training, and various AF special operational duty accession programs.

• Aid in the development of responses and decisions for individual cases and provide recommendations for policies that inform the decisions made by the AMWD/CMO.

• Serve as the subject matter expert, under the oversight and guidance of AMWD personnel, to produce and evaluate medical documentation.

• Monitor cases utilizing the HQ AFAC database throughout the entire review process, ensuring staff, base, and relevant parties are updated on case statuses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must demonstrate leadership and experience in managing psychological health and USAF aeromedical programs at all levels.

• Should have a military background and experience with deployment, specifically within the USAF.

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of Medical Standards as well as USAF policies and programs.

• Must be an experienced clinical psychologist capable of conducting medical standards consultations, particularly in military service standards and corresponding civilian occupational placement standards.

• Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the last fifteen (15) years as a military Biomedical Science Corps officer and psychologist.

• Demonstrated experience in applying military medical standards and conducting special operational evaluations, including clinical interviews and assessments for special duty applicants.

• Hold a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) or an equivalent degree, and have completed a residency or internship training year approved by the U.S. Air Force Surgeon General.

• Must possess a valid, full, active, and unrestricted psychology license in good standing from any U.S. jurisdiction.

• No history of adverse actions against the applicant in the last ten (10) years is acceptable.
