Clinical Operations Manager – Experience as a CTM or People Manager Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Responsible for providing management support and direct supervision to Clinical Operations personnel in designated areas such as Site Selection assistance, site contract support, regulatory/ethics submissions, site activities including site activation, as well as On-Site Monitoring and/or Central Monitoring through Study Close Out.

• Delivers training, consultation, and oversees metric compliance and quality concerning the operational activities of assigned staff to ensure project deliverables are achieved.

• Collaborates with and supervises the Clinical Operations Team to guarantee the fulfillment of client requirements and adherence to relevant regulations.

• Assists senior management in operational planning at various levels.

• May take part in business development presentations as a subject matter expert in Clinical Operations within the company.

• Manages Clinical Operations personnel, including responsibilities for interviewing and hiring, termination, professional development, performance evaluations, and employee counseling; may also be involved in project work assignments and reviewing workloads for all direct reports.

• Directs staff management by setting goals aimed at enhancing knowledge and skill levels, delegating tasks suitable to individual skill levels.

• Reviews the workload of all staff within the reporting chain, assists in managing resource availability for the assigned staff, and ensures that projects are adequately resourced with staffing needs identified promptly.

• Offers expert operational oversight and guidance to assist in prioritizing activities, reviewing and monitoring work performed, ensuring metric compliance, and developing contingency plans, among others.

• Aids in the recruitment of new staff, engaging in the interview process and onboarding of new hires.

• Actively works to maintain staff retention and turnover rates within acceptable levels.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, nursing, or equivalent related experience, along with extensive clinical research experience in a contract research organization, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company, including some leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of GCP/ICH guidelines and other relevant regulatory requirements.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal, and change management abilities, both written and verbal, with a capacity to inform, influence, convince, and persuade.

• Strong time management, technical, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Knowledge of basic financial concepts related to forecasting and budgeting, with an understanding of project budgets.

• Must exhibit proficient computer skills and be open to embracing modern technologies.

• Willingness to travel as required (up to 25%).
