This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Accountable for assessing clinical compliance and quality, covering all facets of clinical operations.
• Supervise and coordinate local orientation while engaging in the development and oversight of ongoing continuing education training for clinical crew members in the designated area to ensure required competencies are achieved and maintained.
• Create and support the design of scenarios and clinical content for new hires and recurrent clinical team members.
• Assist in mentoring clinicians enrolled in clinical education plans.
• Organize activities aimed at achieving and sustaining accreditation.
• Participate in air medical research initiatives.
• Aid in sustaining and enhancing clinical quality, compliance, accreditation, and successful reaccreditation.
• Serve as a clinical expert.
• Lead and support the RCEM with the orientation of new employees, including oversight of schedules and base assignments.
• Provide leadership to orientees and preceptors, acting as a role model throughout the orientation process.
• Collaborate with RCEM and RCD to assist in supervising new employees' clinical preceptorship.
• Work together with the area RCEM and RCD to maintain shared educational resources available to all flight crews in the region, aiding in the enhancement and maintenance of clinical quality.
• Actively participate in and instruct simulation labs, invasive labs, and other learning technology programs to assess and improve the skills of new hires and recurrent clinical team members.
• Direct the development of content and continuing education requirements to ensure compliance and quality with all accrediting, regulatory, and credentialing bodies.
• Support the execution of management decisions that impact air medical practices in the clinical domain.
• Plan educational programs for new and evolving care initiatives.
• Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures as needed to uphold clinical quality.
• Create simulation and other learning technology scenarios aimed at enhancing clinical competency and learning stages.
• Assess the performance of clinical team members during educational programs and apply findings for ongoing improvements.
• Integrate objective evaluations of classroom and clinical performance into an evidence-based evaluation framework.
• Employ measurement tools and statistical analysis, seeking advice when necessary.
• Assist RCEM, RCD, and the Director of Clinical Education in evaluating educational needs (didactic, clinical, certifications, specialty equipment, and training) across the region and for established programs acquired by Air Methods.
• Lead the annual competency training, protocol evaluations, and initial training for new medical equipment and/or procedures.
• Collaborate in the development and revision of medical standards and guidelines in partnership with RCEM, the Director of Clinical Education, RCD, and Medical Directors.
• Support efforts in maintaining accreditation and achieving successful reaccreditation.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), along with five or more years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of four years of prior flight experience.
• At least two years of experience in education/instruction.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of collaboration across all levels.
• Ability to function effectively as a team player with a professional demeanor.
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks efficiently, thrive in a fast-paced environment on various projects, and possess strong attention to detail.
• Experience in high-fidelity simulation is preferred.
• Specialty or subject matter expertise in one or more areas: ventilation, airway management, mechanical circulatory devices, resuscitation, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, or neonatal management.
• Ability to participate and rotate as an administrator on call for specialty equipment and high-risk patient populations.
• Demonstrates skill in navigating and communicating within complex environments.
• Promotes achievement across multiple disciplines of educational/development goals and objectives.
• Engages with all disciplines in an ethical, consistent, fair, timely, appropriate, and decisive manner, in alignment with organizational-wide policies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficient in Smartsheet or similar software as a service (SaaS).
• Meets the qualifications for Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic Specialty certification in accordance with CAMTS standards.
• CFRN or FP-C certification is required.
• Must hold at least one current instructor card (not limited to BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, ITLS, TNCC, TNATC, etc.).
• Must achieve instructor status for all AHA required courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within three months of hiring into the position.
