This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze, review, and code diagnostic information contained in patient records; pinpoint coding opportunities to enhance accuracy.
• Confirm and validate any missed coding opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to established coding standards, third-party reimbursement policies, regulations, and accreditation criteria.
• Conduct audits of patient records to verify accurate coding.
• GED or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• A Professional Coding Certification such as CPC, CCS, or CCS-P is required; CRC certification would be advantageous.
• At least 1 year of experience in advanced professional coding; experience with HCC coding is necessary.
• Preferred experience in providing coding education within an outpatient setting (especially in a Primary Care Practice).
• Strong understanding of payer policies and guidelines.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Proficient in technology (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook).
