This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Evaluate inpatient medical records for thoroughness and precision
• Liaise with physicians and healthcare personnel for documentation needs
• Perform initial concurrent assessments and ongoing re-evaluations of admissions
• Work alongside HIM coders to ensure documentation integrity
• Provide education to staff regarding severity of illness and mortality risk documentation
• Analyze data and communicate findings with the healthcare team
• Oversee compliance and monitor the progress of the clinical documentation improvement program
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline
• Certification in RHIT or RHIA in addition to CCDS or CDIP
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care environment
• For nurses, an associate degree and over 3 years of experience is required
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and coding procedures
