Clinical Data Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate in the creation and upkeep of documentation related to data definitions and abstraction processes.

• Efficiently identify and abstract pathology, treatment, and other clinical information from medical records with precision and thoroughness.

• Maintain the REDCap database for designated disease area(s).

• Employ critical thinking to pinpoint potential issues impacting the abstraction process for enhancement and quality assurance.

• Conduct quality reviews on the work completed by fellow data abstractors.

• Examine data quality dashboards and implement necessary corrections.

• Respond to data quality inquiries from a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, bioinformaticians, and clinical researchers.

• Oversee process documentation.

• Translate healthcare and clinical concepts for data engineering initiatives.

• Coordinate with clinicians to clarify abstraction procedures and clinical concepts.

• Assist the multidisciplinary team in automated abstraction efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in data abstraction, including familiarity with basic medical terminology and electronic medical records.

• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Eager to learn and willing to ask questions.

• Demonstrate high levels of curiosity, initiative, and self-motivation.

• Adaptable to the dynamics of a rapidly growing startup environment.

• Proficient in time management and able to prioritize tasks effectively.

• A collaborative team player who can also work independently.

• Approach problems with a solutions-oriented mindset.

• Committed to ensuring regulatory compliance and confidentiality.

• Previous experience in a healthcare or research setting, particularly with oncology or blood cancers (Nice to have).

• Prior experience in dataset analysis, biostatistics, or SQL (Nice to have).

• Familiarity with research data capture systems (e.g., REDCap or other EDC platforms) (Nice to have).

• Knowledge of AI tools such as Claude and Gemini (Nice to have).
