This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• The Clinical Data Engineer will oversee all elements of clinical data management to support Carina’s production services.
• Offer development and maintenance assistance for clinical data integrations among various systems.
• Effectively employ data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, CCR, and claims data.
• Integrate standardized healthcare code sets including LOINC, ICD9/10, CPT4, and SNOMED.
• Provide development and maintenance support for the EDW and related databases.
• Implement automated solutions whenever feasible and proactively propose alternative options.
• Aid in the creation of new databases and relevant processes as required.
• Develop data analytics reports for specific projects as needed.
• Create data validation reports and conduct analysis where applicable.
• Generate technical documentation for data integrations and associated processes.
• Collaborate and communicate with other team members and clients to craft innovative data solutions.
• Leverage up-to-date knowledge of databases and best practices in data quality to deliver effective solutions.
• Stay informed about healthcare data standards, metrics, and code sets as well as relevant data privacy practices and legal obligations.
• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, public health, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in a SQL environment, particularly with data transformation, stored procedures, and query development.
• Understanding of data warehousing best practices, concepts, and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proven experience in change management.
• Demonstrated capacity to set and achieve project timelines and deliverables.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting with personnel at various levels.
• Adaptable, organized, self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and manage a full workload.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating Systems.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining maximum accountability.
• Strong business and technical writing skills.
• Experience with Snowflake Cloud Database.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, and/or C#, along with REST API connections.
• Knowledge of IHI triple aim, clinical quality improvement, and primary care operations and workflows.
• Willingness to attend conferences and workshops for ongoing education to enhance management skills.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
