This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Perform confidential assessments related to substance use and mental health, either in-person or via telehealth, to identify clients' needs and the appropriate level of care.

• Facilitate placement to suitable facilities based on the results of assessment interviews.

• Employ a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology to collaborate with clients and internal treatment teams in achieving clients’ treatment objectives.

• Offer clinical consultation to referral sources, family members, and other stakeholders to support clients in reaching their treatment goals.

• Actively engage clients in the decision-making process, helping them recognize the advantages of assessment and the importance of accessing the appropriate level of care as needed.

• Gather and review referral details upon receiving clients from the referral source and consult with relevant parties to aid in the coordination of services and scheduling of client assessments.

• Collaborate with Admissions, front desk personnel, and other staff to contact clients and guardians to verify appointment dates, times, and assessment venues.

• Collect data from collateral sources to assist in diagnosing and determining treatment needs.

• Based on assessments, refer clients to the most fitting programs and agencies to facilitate access to the best level of care tailored to their treatment needs.

• Monitor clients' access to and engagement with the program to address any barriers to treatment, following up with clients and guardians promptly to evaluate satisfaction with their transition into the program.

• Model and promote health and wellness activities along with healthy coping strategies for clients.

• In cases where clients are admitted to one of Northpoint’s facilities, coordinate the admission and intake process with appropriate staff to ensure a seamless transition into treatment; if a client is referred to an external program, submit all necessary documentation with proper authorization.

• Collaborate with clients’ funding sources and Northpoint’s Utilization Review team to secure initial authorizations for reimbursement for treatment and support services.

• Work cooperatively with the legal system to ensure the coordination of services, including court appearances when necessary.

• Complete required documentation and maintain high-quality, up-to-date clinical records, including Outcomes Survey data and billing information; enter necessary details into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.

• Keep a current working knowledge of other agencies and programs, as well as a list of resources that can be shared with clients and their guardians.

• Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.

• Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development activities, and required training.

• Provide backup support to Counselors during group and individual therapy sessions as needed.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality according to established policies, procedures, and standards of care.

• Perform other clinically relevant services and special projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.

• Active mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are provided is mandatory.

• If substance use licensure is inactive, the candidate must be willing to apply for it.

• Must uphold applicable state licensure requirements upon hiring and throughout employment duration.

• A minimum of one year of experience in a relevant field that demonstrates knowledge and skills related to the treatment of mental health disorders is essential.

• Must exercise discretion and independent judgment across all aspects of job performance, including maintaining professional boundaries and strict confidentiality concerning client activities and documentation.

• Experience with trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapies such as DBT, CBT, and motivational therapies is necessary.

• Ability to apply clinical judgment, ethics, and accountability to develop and implement treatment plans and other clinical documentation.

• Must be capable of working with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge for treating adolescent clients.

• Must maintain strong personal boundaries while being able to establish rapport with patients.

• Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the respective licensure governing board.
