Claims Representative, Outside Property Contents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• This role supports Insureds/Agents in the Centennial, CO or Phoenix, AZ regions.

• Manages first-party property content claims with moderate to high severity, such as Major Case Unit losses.

• Occasionally oversees first-party property claims of moderate complexity as assigned.

• Conducts field inspections of losses, ensuring accurate documentation of contents damages, photographs, written estimates, and/or computer-assisted estimates.

• Investigates and assesses all pertinent facts to ascertain coverage, damages, and liability regarding first-party property damage claims.

• Obtains recorded or written statements as needed and collaborates with appropriate business partners to optimize company resources for specialized investigation and evaluation.

• Effectively works with and manages vendors involved with the claim, such as textile, electronic, and contents restoration vendors.

• Engages in negotiations with vendors or representatives of the insured.

• Establishes timely and precise claim and expense reserves.

• Drafts denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence.

• Accurately evaluates the extent of damages and manages them using appropriate cost evaluation tools.

• Provides exceptional customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent, and all other internal and external customers/business partners.

• May participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

• Bachelor's Degree.

• Two or more years of prior experience in outside property claim handling.

• Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Advanced organizational and time management abilities.

• Intermediate judgment, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Intermediate negotiation skills.

• Intermediate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey and receive information.

• Intermediate investigative skills.

• Intermediate ability to analyze and determine coverage.

• Intermediate skills in analyzing and evaluating damages.

• Intermediate capability to resolve claims within settlement authority.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• One year of previous property claim handling experience or successful completion of the Travelers Claim Representative training program.

• Valid driver's license.
