This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Evaluating and managing claims by implementing well-structured action plans to achieve timely and appropriate resolutions through thorough investigation and information gathering to assess claim exposure.
• Engaging in negotiations for the settlement of claims within the assigned authority limits.
• Keeping both the claimant and the client informed about claim activities and processing updates.
• Submitting claims to the excess carrier and promptly addressing any requests for guidance in a professional manner.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on relevant insurance principles and laws related to the specific line of business, including recoveries, offsets, deductions, claim and disability durations, as well as cost containment strategies involving medical management practices and the application procedures for Social Security and Medicare as they pertain to the line of business.
• Capable of reviewing, comprehending, and interpreting contracts.
• A minimum of 4 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.
• A Home State License and the ability to obtain licensing in New York are essential for this position.
