Claims Examiner – Auto, Bodily Injury, Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and manage intricate bodily injury claims related to auto and commercial transportation by examining coverage, conducting investigations, establishing liability, and assessing the extent of damages.

• Handle complex claims for both commercial and personal auto lines, including bodily injury, ensuring that claim files are thoroughly documented and accurately coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims that are in litigation.

• Manage vendor relationships, which includes coordinating with independent adjusters to aid in the claims investigation.

• Notify excess carrier(s) regarding significant claims.

• Create and uphold action plans to guarantee compliance with state-mandated contact deadlines, facilitating the timely and appropriate resolution of claims.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for subrogation and risk transfer; manage the acquisition and disposal of salvage.

• Communicate claims processing and actions with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to the organization's quality initiatives. Travel as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or a suitable combination of education and experience is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of personal and commercial auto policies, coverage, principles, and relevant laws.

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Relevant professional certification related to the line of business is preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present effectively.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• Must obtain and maintain the required State adjusting licenses for the position.
