Claims Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Ensures that accountable decisions are made at appropriate organizational levels.

• Oversees the management and resolution of claims initiated under title insurance policies and products.

• Analyzes both internal and external business environments.

• Retains, monitors, and manages external counsel and legal representation for the insured.

• Engages in negotiations for settlements and claim resolutions with claimants, third parties, and opposing counsel.

• Manages a personal caseload that includes cases involving fraud, forgery, missed liens, access issues, easement disputes, and more.

• Identifies and prepares resolved claims for recovery or salvage initiatives.

• Executes specialized assignments, addressing complex issues and developing innovative solutions through advanced analytical thinking.

• Suggests best practices to enhance processes or services.

• Contributes to the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service goals.

• Functions as an individual contributor, working autonomously, though may require support in highly complex scenarios.

• May involve occasional travel to participate in mediations, settlement conferences, claim conferences, and other related events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Required: Juris Doctorate and licensure to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

• Generally requires 2 or more years of related professional experience.
