Claims Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations, assessments, and decisions regarding coverage and potential claim resolutions.

• Assess the necessity to retain external counsel; oversee claims and/or litigation until a final resolution is achieved.

• Engage in negotiations with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties to reach a resolution.

• Take part in mediations and fulfill other required court appearances.

• Review and authorize payments for costs and attorneys' fees.

• Carry out and assist in the initial evaluation for recovery.

• Keep records of claim file activities.

• Assess and respond to clearance and curative demands.

• Undertake additional activities or projects as assigned.

• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

• Demonstrate consistent attention to detail and a commitment to precision.

• Advanced skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.

• Must be licensed and in good standing (any jurisdiction is acceptable).

• Preferred experience of 3 to 5 years in title insurance, a related field, or litigation experience.

• Recent law graduates will also be considered.

• Basic understanding of real property and insurance law.
