Claims Advisor – Casualty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships with members and clients concerning all claims.

• Manage property insurance claims, property damage liability, and bodily injury claims of varying complexities.

• Execute investigations and inspections to evaluate damage, estimate costs and market value, and generate and review reports and other documentation to ascertain settlement amounts.

• Assess medical, financial, and employment information to determine eligibility for benefits in accordance with statutory criteria.

• Investigate and authorize claims.

• Resolve claims in line with organizational standards, policies, quality commitments, and contractual obligations.

• Adhere to deadlines to ensure client satisfaction and prevent penalties.

• Negotiate with all parties involved to facilitate seamless claims processing.

• Counsel and support clients, represent Desjardins, and formalize agreements with clients on behalf of the organization.

• Create solutions, negotiate claims settlements, and establish agreements with members, clients, third parties, and others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• At least three years of experience in claims management.

• Alternative combinations of qualifications and pertinent experience may be taken into account.

• Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

• Willingness to travel up to 3.5 hours within the area between Toronto and London, Ontario.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Strong decision-making abilities.
