CICS Systems Programmer – Mainframe

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Addresses intricate technical challenges for Truist's Network applications by managing various CICS Production, Development, and Test environments within a multi-LPAR mainframe setup.

• Engages in problem tracking, diagnosis, root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex issues.

• Timely responds to concerns by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.

• Analyzes and monitors trends in technical issues, providing recommendations for sustainable improvements.

• Records all pertinent end-user interactions and the actions taken to resolve incidents.

• Updates internal customers on the status of issue resolution.

• May collaborate with and manage external vendors.

• Utilizes extensive knowledge of application support along with an understanding of best practices.

• Generally leads moderately complex projects and contributes to larger, more intricate initiatives.

• Resolves complex technical and operational challenges.

• Serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

• May oversee people management responsibilities for a small team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Extensive knowledge in information systems, with the ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.

• Understanding of essential business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

• Capability to plan and manage projects effectively.

• Proficient in solving complex problems by applying best practices.

• Ability to guide and mentor less experienced colleagues.

• Skill in interpreting and conveying complex, challenging, or sensitive information.

• Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.

• Qualified applicants will possess up-to-date CICS knowledge, with mainframe MQ skills being a plus, including familiarity with CICS Explorer, WUI, Omegamon, and strong troubleshooting capabilities (IPCS, FileAid) are preferred.

• Experience with CICSPLEX, CICS Web Services, CICS APIs, or TCP/IP sockets is preferred.
