This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• In the role of Chief Medical Officer, you will operate under administrative guidance to spearhead initiatives aimed at delivering innovative solutions for more affordable healthcare.
• Foster a culture of personal accountability for health and wellness, providing exceptional service and fostering partnerships with the constituents served by HPSJ.
• Supervise the Medical Directors, Director of Pharmacy, Director of Clinical Analytics, and the Executive Assistant.
• Identify, develop, plan, and execute short, medium, and long-term strategies that align with and advance corporate objectives.
• Create and oversee the implementation of medical management policies.
• Ensure that medical decisions are made by qualified personnel without influence from financial considerations.
• Partner with the Chief Health Services Officer on the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of Quality Improvement and Quality Management Programs.
• Manage medical utilization by applying recognized medical and pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Oversee the development and management of departmental budgets and accreditation activities to ensure compliance with standards.
• Represent HPSJ positively by serving on both internal and external committees and leadership forums.
• MD degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Successful completion of a residency program accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education.
• A minimum of ten years of clinical experience in medical practice within managed care settings.
• At least five years of clinical experience working with MediCal and/or Medicare populations.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.
• Board Certification in a medical specialty is required.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation, or the ability to secure transportation on demand within the counties served by HPSJ, especially if unable to obtain a driver’s license due to a medically documented disability.
