Chief Engineer – Oil Tanker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Responsible for overseeing engine room operations and maintaining all machinery.

• Ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the main engine, auxiliary equipment, and electrical systems.

• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance along with necessary repairs.

• Track fuel consumption, lubricating oil usage, and engine performance metrics.

• Lead and supervise the engine crew, allocating tasks and providing training.

• Maintain compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required experience in repairs and dry docking operations.

• Proven experience in a multicultural workplace.

• Must hold a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as per STCW Regulation III/2, with verification.

• Must possess valid STCW certifications necessary for this role.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

• Proficient in English communication.

• A strong commitment to safety culture and mindset.

• Minimum experience of 8 months in the same rank aboard a vessel of similar type/size.

• Experience with electronic engines is essential.

• Experience with FRAMO and/or steam turbines cargo pump systems is mandatory.

• Familiarity with trading areas in the USA and Australia is preferred.
