This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.
β’ Responsible for overseeing engine room operations and maintaining all machinery.
β’ Ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the main engine, auxiliary equipment, and electrical systems.
β’ Plan and carry out preventive maintenance along with necessary repairs.
β’ Track fuel consumption, lubricating oil usage, and engine performance metrics.
β’ Lead and supervise the engine crew, allocating tasks and providing training.
β’ Maintain compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
β’ Required experience in repairs and dry docking operations.
β’ Proven experience in a multicultural workplace.
β’ Must hold a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as per STCW Regulation III/2, with verification.
β’ Must possess valid STCW certifications necessary for this role.
β’ Strong communication and leadership abilities.
β’ Proficient in English communication.
β’ A strong commitment to safety culture and mindset.
β’ Minimum experience of 8 months in the same rank aboard a vessel of similar type/size.
β’ Experience with electronic engines is essential.
β’ Experience with FRAMO and/or steam turbines cargo pump systems is mandatory.
β’ Familiarity with trading areas in the USA and Australia is preferred.
